## About Aubrey Aubrey is an educator, memoirist, and advocate who believes storytelling can save lives. After nearly a decade teaching and tutoring, she’s learned that writing is more than craft—it’s connection, survival, and truth-telling. She creates emotionally safe, inclusive learning spaces where every voice matters, modeling vulnerability and inviting students to write with honesty, courage, and care. ## Write to Rise: Memoir & Meaning _Because your story deserves space, and your voice deserves to be heard._ This course uses memoir, poetry, and journaling to transform lived experience into meaning. You’ll learn to shape memory with heart and structure, trust your voice (even when it shakes), and turn your story into strength through creative prompts, storytelling frameworks, and gentle, useful feedback. ## Trauma-Informed Teaching Aubrey centers safety and consent. Sessions may include optional sharing circles, reflective discussions, and clear boundaries so students can move at their own pace. Her approach blends empathy with structure—meeting you where you are, whether writing through grief, rediscovering joy, or making sense of your journey. ## How the Class Works We meet three times per week for four weeks (12 sessions). Mondays focus on memoir foundations and guided writing; Wednesdays explore poetry and emotional expression; Fridays offer optional sharing, gentle feedback, and community reflection. Each session includes live prompts and time to write, with recorded guidance and downloadable resources provided between meetings. ## What You’ll Need Bring a journal or notebook (handwritten encouraged but digital is fine), your favorite writing tools, a quiet reflective space, and—optionally—a few photos or mementos for memory prompts. Most of all, bring an open heart and willingness to reflect.
